Music Pills

The Euterpe concert hall looks for alternatives to continue with live music with a cycle that takes place between March and April at the Sant Joan d’Alacant Auditorium.

Musical Pills is the psychic remedy that Sala Euterpe has created to better cope with these hard months. There are 4 concerts that will be held in the Sant Joan d’Alacant Auditorium, complying with the legislation and security measures in force to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

On Saturday, March 13, the cycle will begin with the concert of the emerging artist Andrea Borrás, who will present her album “Mía”. The second concert will be in charge of Los Gandules who will step on the stage of the Sant Joan Auditorium on March 28. The next concert will be on April 17, in which we will enjoy Mr. Kilombo, a more than consolidated artist who has served as an emotional injection for many people in this pandemic with the vitality of his songs. Finally, on April 18 we will close the cycle we will have the Valencian band Santero y los Muchachos, an acoustic trio but with the same energy that they transmit as a band.

For more than 7 years Sala Euterpe has been working with the aim of bringing contemporary popular music tours to Sant Joan d’Alacant; They tell us that “given the situation we live in, we have had to adapt and create this cycle to continue with our purpose. We are very grateful for the support received, both from our public, as well as from the participating agencies and artists, and of course, by the Sant Joan d’Alacant Department of Culture. ”

Last March 7, 2020 was the last time they were able to give a concert, the average per season was around 70 events, and they confess that “after more than 10 months without being able to program, these 4 dates are emotionally essential in these times so hard. This health crisis is doing a lot of damage to the live music industry, and more to concert halls. ”

Esther Donate, Sant Joan d’Alacant councilor for culture, who has supported the creation of this cycle, makes it clear that “since health measures allowed us to continue with cultural programming, it was necessary to continue betting on culture, especially when it it served as an escape mechanism during the pandemic, keeping us active and motivated despite extreme circumstances. Throughout this journey, it has been shown that safe culture can be consumed, and our spaces are adapted to health recommendations and requirements, allowing us to continue betting on this sector that has suffered so much. Culture must not stop ”.

The 4 artistic proposals bring together different styles and genres alternating calm rock, humor, pop and urban miscegenation, creating a balanced cycle suitable for all audiences. It is only necessary to warn of several side effects that these pills can cause us, ranging from extreme happiness to smiles that fit masks, and even an imposing feeling of well-being knowing that with this event you are supporting culture, artists and Sala Euterpe in this damn pandemic that is doing so much damage to us.
